The Children's Ferrite and Science Museum
This museum, where both children and adults can have fun, was inspired by the enthusiasm and love of challenge that Kenzo Saito-who is called the father of ferrite commercialization-had for science. It aims at nurturing science skills through hands-on experience.

    The Shirase Antarctic Expedition Memorial Museum
    Nobu Shirase led Japan's first Antarctic expedition group. He was born in Konoura-cho, Akita. The museum shows the achievements of the expedition group through exhibitions of the equipment used and explanations on auroras.

    Saito Family Memorial Museum
    The museum, located within the Nikaho Working Youth Center, displays the achievements of Uichiro Saito, the father of Kenzo Saito, TDK's founder. Uichiro Saito contributed to the modernization of agriculture in Akita from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century.

    Nikaho Heights
    Nikaho Heights is located to the east of Mt. Chokai at an elevation of about 500 meters. The Nikaho Kogen Wind Power Farm has 15 windmills that stand 90 meters tall and have one of the largest output capacity in Japan.
